Real-style responses to the CELPIP Writing and Speaking tasks, scored at CLB 9 against the four-rubric grading scheme. Each is annotated with what raises — and what lowers — the band.
Each at the 150–200 word target, with rubric notes inline.
Read the response once for content, then again with the rubric notes. Compare to your own writing — where would a grader mark you down? Most band-7 writers reach band 9 by tightening the same two or three patterns: paragraph cohesion, lexical variety, and finishing every point the prompt asked for.
Do not memorize the samples. Graders see the same phrases over and over from prep books; reused chunks lower the Vocabulary band, not raise it.
