These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of VerbaNorth (the "Service"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
VerbaNorth is a Canadian language test preparation platform. We currently offer CELPIP-style English practice (mock tests, Reading Lab, Writing Lab, Speaking Lab, Vocabulary Builder, and a study planner).
VerbaNorth is a practice tool. It is not official test material, not an official test, and not a substitute for taking the actual examination.
VerbaNorth is a free-to-use platform. We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or change access at any time and without notice. We may pause or limit new account registration at our discretion.
Writing Lab scores, Speaking Lab scores, vocabulary suggestions, and any other AI-generated output on VerbaNorth are estimated practice feedback only. They are produced by automated language models and:
Listening and Reading questions are scored deterministically from the answer key and are labelled as practice estimates only.
We do not guarantee any specific outcome from using VerbaNorth, including but not limited to: a particular test score, immigration application result, school or program admission, employment offer, professional licensing decision, or any other consequential outcome. Do not make immigration, financial, legal, employment, or other consequential decisions based solely on VerbaNorth practice results.

We may suspend or terminate access for violations of acceptable use.
You retain ownership of the writing and speaking responses you submit. You grant us a limited licence to store and process your submissions for the purpose of operating the Service and generating practice feedback (including sending the submission to our AI processor, as described in the Privacy Policy). You are solely responsible for the lawfulness and accuracy of what you submit.
Practice prompts, reading passages, listening scripts, MCQ items, vocabulary entries, and sample answers on VerbaNorth are original works created for this platform. You may use them for personal, non-commercial practice. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or use them in derivative products without our written permission.
Payments are not currently active on VerbaNorth. We do not offer paid subscriptions, one-time purchases, or in-app upgrades at this time. Because no payment is collected, a refund policy is not currently applicable.
When paid plans are introduced in the future, we commit to: (a) publishing clear pricing and billing terms before any charge can be made; and (b) offering a minimum 14-day refund period on the first purchase of any paid plan. These commitments will be reflected in an updated version of these Terms before any paid feature launches.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, fit for a particular purpose, or that practice results will correlate with official examination outcomes.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, VerbaNorth, its operators, contributors, and service providers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service. This includes, without limitation: lost opportunity, lost data, lost income, costs of substitute services, or decisions made based on practice results.
In plain language: you use VerbaNorth for practice. If your real test score, immigration result, admission decision, job, or any other outcome is different from what your practice scores suggested, we are not responsible. Always rely on official testing and official guidance for consequential decisions.
The Service relies on third-party providers (described in the Privacy Policy) for authentication, database hosting, email delivery, and AI processing. We are not responsible for downtime, errors, or data handling by those providers beyond the contractual protections that apply to us.
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, abused the Service, or created risk for other users or for us. You may stop using the Service at any time by deleting your account.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page will reflect any change. Material changes will be communicated through the Service. Continued use after a change indicates acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator of VerbaNorth. To the extent permitted by law, you and we agree that any dispute will be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction in that location.
